Chen Tao start trial at Anderlecht (Xinhua) Updated: 2005-10-01 11:17
BRUSSELS, September 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese striker Chen Tao will start his
trial at Anderlecht starting from next Monday, the Belgian first division club
said on Friday.
The club press officer Pierre Desmet told Xinhua that Chen is expected to be
at the club's training ground on Monday morning for ten days.
Anderlecht were impressed by Chen's performance in this summer's world youth
championships and extended their invitation for the trial.
If the trial could lead to a contract, Chen would be the second Chinese
player to play in the Belgian football league.
Chen's compatriot Dong Fangzhuo currently plays in Belgian second division
Antwerp.
