English squad unhappy with Beckham England’s players are reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with the influence of captain David Beckham over national boss Sven Goran Eriksson. The accusation comes from a so called ‘insider’ of the English camp, who has made some startling comments to the News of the World newspaper. "The players are becoming more and more concerned about how powerful Beckham has become,” said the anonymous informant. "They all know he is extremely close to Sven and the pair talk to each other about tactics and team selection all the time. "There is a growing feeling that Sven is listening too much to Beckham. "It's as if the England team has recently been picked for the good of David Beckham, rather than the good of the country." Commenting on a reported ‘bust-up’ between Beckham and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney in the trip to Northern Ireland, the informant noted: "Wayne's row with Beckham may have been 'over-the-top' but he was saying what a lot of other players were silently thinking. "Some of the other lads feel exactly the same although they wouldn't want
Beckham or Eriksson to know for obvious reasons.”
