The Chinese national soccer team is prepared to start their participation in the under-17 Youth World Cup in spite of the theft of their uniforms Thursday, said local sources Friday.

Unidentified men stole nearly 100 training uniforms and other sports material from the vehicle accompanying the bus with the Chinese players at the Peruvian capital.

The theft happened when the Chinese delegation moved to their hotel in Lima, before traveling to Trujillo, the seat of Group A.

China integrates Group A with Peru, Costa Rica and Ghana, with Mansiche Stadium, of Trujillo - 550 kilometers northwest of Lima, as their venue.

According to the sources, in spite of the incident the Chinese national team is optimistic and ready for the match versus Costa Rica, after urgently receiving new uniforms.
