Chinese A-list actresses Zhang Ziyi and Gong Li will be among the celebrities
on hand at this week's opening of Hong Kong Disneyland, the official Xinhua
News Agency reported.
Zhang and Gong, who both feature in the upcoming Memoirs of a Geisha,
will join Hong Kong pop star Jacky Cheung, the park's chief promoter, on
the red carpet at Monday's opening.
Zhang, who also starred in Ang Lee's 2000 martial
arts epic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, was recently named China's
second most marketable celebrity by Forbes magazine's Chinese edition.
Gong, the lithesome
star
of numerous Zhang Yimou features, placed 12th on the Forbes list.
Hong Kong Disneyland is heavily targeting visitors from mainland China,
where rising urban incomes and exposure to Western pop culture have
stirred interest in foreign vacations.
