China can win wrestling gold in 2008 Olympics, coach

Three-time Olympic bronze medalist Sheng Zetian said here on Thursday that Chinese men can win their first-ever wrestling gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Sheng, who won the bronze medals in Barcelona, Atlanta and Sydney Olympics, the changes to the rules gives Chinese men more chances in the Beijing Games.

"Under the old rules, underdogs have little chances to to win. But now there will be more upset victories," said Sheng, now coaching the Chinese national team.

The Greco-Roman wrestling became more haphazard under the International Wrestling Union's new rule.

"I am very happy with the new rule," he added.

Sheng hopes that his students can exceed himself in the Beijing Olympics some of the player can even win the gold medal.
