British soccer star David Beckham is struggling to learn Spanish because he can't shake off his London cockney accent.

david beckham struggles with spanish in real madridBeckham's wife and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham says that while the couple's eldest two sons Brooklyn and Romeo are learning the language with ease, David is having difficulties because his mistakes embarrass him.

She says, "It's easy when you're a kid. They pick it up a lot quicker. It's harder when you're an adult.

"He's (David) learnt the necessary things too like, 'Stop pulling on my shirt, you b**ger.' He was really thrown in at the deep end because nobody spoke English on the team so he's had to learn. But David's quite shy and you feel embarrassed when you're learning a language and you're not sure about your accent."
