Chinese distance runners draw a blank in Helsinki
By Chen Xiangfeng (China Daily)

"I always believe that as long as you work hard you will get your just deserts."

Xing did not want to find any excuse for the failure.

"We are not adjusting ourselves to the competitions properly. But it is not an excuse. We will learn lessons and work even harder. We have the power to win medals," said Xing, who broke the 10,000 junior world record in 2003 World Junior Championships at 19.

Regarded as the most talented runner in her coach's eyes, Sun said that the title drought at Worlds and Olympics had made her more rational.

"I am not in good form. But as an athlete, I need to give my best whatever the conditions," said Sun.
