It is the roses' second match in a row not to even score a goal into the net during the four-nation competition kicked off in South Korea on August 1, comprising China, Japan, South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Both of China and Japan earned only one point after two matches of the tournament. And China ranks fourth on goal difference with Japan.

China lost 2-0 to South Korea with Japan beat 1-0 by DPRK in the first match of the four-nation competition.

Chinese national women's soccer team was the former runner-up of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and the World Cup, which prompted their profile all over China.
