The flame for China's 10th National Games was re-ignited by China's first astronaut Yang Liwei here on Monday.

Yang, the first Chinese citizen ever to fly in space, lit the third branch flame which indicates "Renaissance".

The collection of the games flame started on July 1 and Yang put an end to the one-month course.

The "Science" and "Civilization" flames had been ignited in Jiangsu's Nanjing, host city of the tournament, and Shangqiu of Henan province respectively.

The three flames will get together to kick off the torch relay from the Tian'anmen Square in Beijing next week. The games flame, rekindled every four years, will travel around in China before reaching Nanjing to light the cauldron in October.
