Search for seven trapped miners continued in the Xigou Coal Mine, Xin'an County of central China's Henan Province, where a flooding took place more than 50 hours ago.

The flooding took place at 8:00 a.m. Sunday in the Xigou Coal Mine, trapping seven workers underground.

Rescuers said the chance of survival is slim for the seven miners as they are located at a lower part of the shaft. However, they will try their best to save the trapped miners, said rescuers.

By 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, rescuers had pumped out 700 cubic meters of water from the accident shaft.

The seven miners are natives of Xin'an county and natives of neighboring counties.

Owner of the coal mine escaped after the flooding.

The Xigou Coal Mine had been operated by an individual employee. The coal mine is undergoing a safety rectification when the flooding occurred.

Xin'an county government has ordered all local small coal minesto suspend production for safety check-ups after the accident.
