Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe has ruled out his city's bid for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Delanoe said Tuesday that the city will not be a candidate in the bid for the Summer Olympics, but will be glad to support a South American or African bid.

He also repeated the claim that London failed to play by the International Olympic Committee's bidding rules.

IOC President Jacques Rogge said Saturday that London had done nothing wrong, and that none of the five bidding cities had broken the rules.

The Olympics have never been held in Africa or South America.
