US to be prudent on textile safeguards
By Liu Weiling and Jiang Wei (China Daily)

"The current Sino-US trade relationship is better than ever," Wu added. "In the past few years, we have succeeded in maintaining mutually-beneficial and win-win relations through effective co-operation."

She called on both sides to make more effort to improve Sino-US trade relations. "There remains a long way to go," she said.

Experts noted that on the way to establishing a closer and healthier Sino-US trade relationship, some rifts must be resolved, with textile trade currently a major sticking point. "We don't expect the US Government to introduce any new curbs on other categories of Chinese textile or garment products," said Cao Xinyu, vice-chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Textiles.
