Three Gorges dam opens to public

Chinese tourists visit the Three Gorges dam in Yichang, Central China's Hubei Province July 1, 2005. The dam started to open to the public starting from Friday. Some 1000 visitors each day are allowed to tour the dam, which blocks the Yangtze River, at a cost of 68 yuan (US$8) per person. [newsphoto]
