Surfing the Internet while traveling on train

The Railway Comprehensive Information Service System, approved by the Ministry of Railways, has been successfully installed in the No 1477 train from Beijing to Zhenjiang, east China's Jiangsu Province, by Beijing EPIN Travelers Information Service Ltd.

This means China has realized wireless net in trains, which is one of the measures of China's railway system to serve the 2008 Technology Olympics.

The "TraiNet" information service system, including multimedia terminal and wireless net, is developed by EPIN Technologies (China), Ltd. The new system can provide passengers with video broadcasting, traveling information, and news from both home and abroad. Net game and online chatting are both possible now for train passengers.

The first installed train is operating well and welcomed by many passengers, said a project manager. The "TraiNet" information system is expected to be installed on 72 "Z" and "T" trains.

Railway is the preferred transportation choice in many developed countries in recent years. China has greatly invested in upgrading railways equipments to provide good service to passengers.
