At the 8th Shanghai International Film Festival
Japanese film The Village
Album took the Best Film and Best Actor Awards on Sunday.
Chinese mainland star Vicky Zhao won Best Actress for A Time to Love, while Japanese star
Tatsuya Fuji took the Best Actor for his performance in The Village Album.
The Silver Wine Cup Award or the Jury Prix Award went to Chinese film
Gimme Kudos, which also took
home the Best Screenplay award.
Chinese director Zhang Yimou and Hong Kong actor Jacky Chan also
appeared at the award ceremony. They took the first big award of
"Outstanding Contributions to Chinese Films" at the opening ceremony on
June 11.
This is also the first time that the festival has presented an award to
honor influential film artists from around the world.
