Real Madrid's England striker Michael Owen could be involved in a swap deal for Manchester United's Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo, Spain's sporting press reported on Saturday.

Michael Owen is wanted by several English clubs, including United, and Ronaldo has impressed Madrid coach Wanderley Luxemburgo, according to the press.

At the beginning of the year, Spanish sports newspapers also reported on a possible swap between Owen and Arsenal's Jose Antonio Reyes which was categorically denied by the Madrid club.

Owen, who scored 13 goals for Real last season, said while in New York with the England team at the end of May that he was happy at Real Madrid.

"It's a fantastic team. Personally, I have absolutely no regrets about joining them," Owen said.

Owen was bought by Real from Liverpool in June last year for 12mil euros.
