A source from Taihe International Entertainment recently confirmed that
renowned actor and director Jiang Wen had joined the company with a
five-year contract.
According to the contract, the company will invest in three films
directed by Jiang over a period of five years.
The first film under the contract, "The Sun Rises Again," will start
shooting in October. It was said that Jiang was busy preparing for the
filming.
Early this year, Taihe split
off from Huayi Brothers, which had invested in such big
hits as "Big Shot's Funeral," "The Cell Phone" and "A World Without
Thieves," all directed by prominent director Feng Xiaogang.
Qian Shimu, president of Taihe, said that as an independent company,
Taihe would focus on production of films and TV series.
Taihe set up an investment arm with famous scriptwriters Liu Zhenyun
and Wang Shuo. It also owns a music production company and a digital music
company.
