China's Jie Zheng returns the ball to Italy's
Francesca Schiavone during their first round match of the French Open
tennis tournament at Roland Garros stadium, Tuesday May 24, 2005 in Paris.

the opening set and conceded the loss without any chance to break. But she
fought back in the second with a break in the 6th game and levelled the score.
In the decider, Zheng managed a break in the start and took a 2 nil lead.
However consecutive faults in the fourth buried her vantage but lifted
Schiavone's morale, with which the Italian get the upper hand 5-3 and clinched
the victory.
Zheng's loss makes 19-year-old Peng Shuai the only Chinese hope in the
women's singles competition. The girl is to take on Lindsay Davenport of the U.S
in the second round.
