China, managed by American Jim Lefebvre, wrapped up a place in the International Baseball Federation's World Cup of Baseball in September.

Chinese pitcher Wang Nan picked up the win after coming on in the fifth inning at Sun Marine Stadium and holding the South Koreans scoreless the rest of the way.

Host Japan, South Korea and Taiwan also secured berths in the World Cup, which will be played in the Netherlands.
