Argentina swept three matches against defending champion Chile on Thursday to reach the World Team Cup finals.

Argentina, which will play Germany or Spain on Saturday, got singles victories from Gaston Gaudio and Guillermo Canas and took the doubles behind Juan Ignacio Chela and Guillermo Coria.

In another group match, France defeated the Czech Republic 2-1.

Gaudio rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the opening set to beat Fernando Gonzalez 6-4, 6-2, ending the Chilean's 15-match winning streak. Canas came back in the final set to top Nicolas Massu 6-2, 1-6, 6-3. In doubles, Chela and Coria defeated Hermes Gamonal and Adrian Garcia 6-4, 6-3.

"I didn't feel as good as the other days," Gonzalez said. "After I lost a few points I lost a bit of confidence. I didn't focus on what I had to do."

Gaudio, the 2004 French Open champion, acknowledged he was off his game.

"He was playing much better than me," Gaudio said. "I couldn't do so much. Then I started to hit the ball a little harder and tried to go for the point."

France won a singles match and the doubles against the Czechs. Sebastien Grosjean topped Jiri Novak 7-6 (5), 6-3, and Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra routed Tomas Berdych and Jiri Novak 6-1, 6-1. Berdych beat Llodra 6-2, 6-1 in the other singles.
