Consumer price up 1.8% in April

Figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Monday show that consumer price in April increased by 1.8 percent over the same period last year.

While prices of grain, apparel, medical care, transport and communications all dropped, prices of meat, poultry and aquatic products all saw a marked rise.

The figures also show that the consumer price in the first quarter of 2005 increased by 2.6 percent year-on-year.
