Pearce confirmed as Manchester City manager (Agencies) Updated: 2005-05-12 20:54 Stuart Pearce has been
appointed permanent Manchester City manager on a two-year deal, the club said on
Thursday.
The former England defender had been placed in charge for the last nine games
of the season after Kevin Keegan quit after four years in charge in March.
City have taken 15 points in eight games under Pearce, including three wins
in their last four to remain in contention for a UEFA Cup place.
They end their season at home to Middlesbrough on Sunday, needing a victory
to deny Steve McClaren's side the seventh and final European place, although
Tottenham Hotspur could leapfrog both.
