NBA TV, the NBA's around-the-clock cable channel, showed the best-of-five final opener between the Guangdong Tigers and Jiangsu Dragons on a tape-delay basis. Games two and three on Saturday and Sunday will be shown live.

Game feeds come from Shanghai Media Group, the official CBS broadcaster, with English commentary from Wang Dong of SMG.

"We are delighted to work with the NBA to broadcast the best of Chinese basketball to the US basketball fans," said Li Yuan Wei, executive vice president of the CBA. "It is indeed an exciting moment."

The Dragons feature center Tang Zhengdong, who leads Jiangsu with 24.1 points and 12.1 rebounds a game, veteran guard Hu Weidong, Chinese assist leader Hu Xue Feng and former NBA forward Jelani McCoy.

The CBA Finals feature seven new members of China's national team, set to be coached in the 2006 Asian Games at Doha by Lithuanian Jonas Kazlauskas, an assistant to American Del Harris in guiding China's 2004 Olympic team.
