Chinese soccer club kicked out over salary dispute Chinese soccer club Shannxi Guoli was kicked out of the Chinese first division league on Saturday for failing to pay off players' salary. Chinese Football Association's Discipline Committee made the announcement on its official website, claiming that Guoli's default has violated the CFA regulations. The committee decided to cancel Guoli's registration of the year 2005, banish the club from the first division league and prohibit it from playing any league or CFA games this year. Guoli, a minnow club from northwest Shannxi province, has been struggling since mid March with a series of problems. Besides the awkward standings and poor matches this season, Guoli got further troubles when goalkeeper Jiang Hong revealed the team had fixed some games encouraged by general manager Wang Bo. But Wang Bo fired back at the "whistleblower", alleging that Jiang Hong is a drug addict who is also connected with these fixed games. However, CFA officials denied that the punishment was due to the reasons cited by Wang. "The main reason is that they disobeyed the rules and regulations made by the discipline committee," CFA press officer Dong Hua told Xinhua. "After the salary problem was disclosed, we had given them one month to settle it, but they didn't perform the duties well. The decision has nothing to do with the match-fixing rumors."
