Have your design call my design and we'll do lunch A number of Guangzhou residents are complaining that the chosen design for the city's television tower resembles a building at a Tokyo port, the Information Times reports. Many people who have seen the photo of the Tokyo building and the TV tower design thought the two were highly similar and protested. In response, the city's planning bureau said they were aware of the similarity, but added the two are completely different in construction and shape when examined carefully. The 450-metre design of the Guangzhou TV tower has been sent to the city's CPC committee for final approval. Meanwhile, experts said the Guangzhou design is a super high-rise building of unique shape while the Tokyo building was less than 110 metres high and "regular." |
