China to strengthen AIDS surveillance (crienglish.com) Updated: 2005-03-20 16:11 China says its health departments will further
strengthen AIDS surveillance work.
At a symposium in Beijing, vice Health Minister Wang Longde said by the end
of last year, China had increased its state-level AIDS surveillance stations to
247. And China had another 400 provincial-level surveillance stations, almost
covering all targeted groups.
The minister added this year China will further implement free treatment for
low-income AIDS patients and attempt to eliminate social discrimination against
people suffering from AIDS.
