Kevin Bacon is getting some film-festival love. "Loverboy," the second movie directed by Bacon, will open the 10th annual Gen Art Film Festival, to be held April 6-12 in New York City. The film premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival.

Based on the book by Victoria Redel, "Loverboy" stars Bacon and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, who plays a dangerously overprotective mom.

Bacon also directed "Losing Chase," a 1996 TV movie starring Sedgwick and Helen Mirren.

He starred in "Mystic River," "Hollow Man," "Apollo 13" and "Footloose." Bacon and Sedgwick appeared together as a conflicted couple in 2004's "The Woodsman."

"Loverboy" will be screened at the Ziegfield Theater in Midtown.
