Brazil announce squad for World Cup qualifiers

Brazil coach Carlos Parreira released on Friday the roster for the 2006 World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Uruguay.

All of the players summoned to the national team have taken part in recent matches, with the exception of goalkeeper Marcos and left-back Gustavo Nery, who had long been away from the national side.

The roster for the games against Peru (March 27, at Goiania) and Uruguay (March 30, at Montevideo) is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Dida (Milan, Italy) and Marcos (Palmeiras, Sao Paulo).

Defenders: Lucio (Bayern Munich, Germany), Juan (Bayer Leverkusen, Germany), Luisao (Benfica, Portugal), Cris (Lyon, France), Cafu (Milan, Italy), Maicon (Monaco, France), Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid, Spain) and Gustavo Nery (Corinthians).

Midfield: Emerson (Juventus, Italy), Juninho Pernambucano (Lyon,France), Ze Roberto (Bayern Munich), Magrao (Palmeiras), Kaka (Milan, Italy), Alex (Fenerbahce, Turkey) and Renato (Seville, Spain).

Forwards: Adriano (Milan Inter, Italy), Robinho (Santos), Ronaldo (Real Madrid, Spain), Ronaldinho Gaucho (Barcelona, Spain)and Ricardo Oliveira (Real Betis, Spain).
