Keegan "leaves Man City"
Manchester City manager Kevin Keegan has left the Premier League club, BBC Radio has reported.
The BBC said Keegan's assistant, former England captain Stuart Pearce, was set to take temporary charge of City's first team and that a statement from the club was expected on Friday. Keegan had previously made it clear that he would be leaving the club when his contract expired at the end of next season. Club chairman John Wardle said in December that City were actively seeking a replacement for their manager. "Kevin has got one and a half seasons to go so we are not silly enough to sit back and say that we are not going to do anything," Wardle told City's website following the club's Annual General Meeting. "We have got to be thinking about it, looking at it and deciding what kind of thing to do as time moves on. But I must stress that at this point there are no names in the frame as it is too early." City are 12th in the 20-team Premier League having picked up 36 points from 29 matches.
