Members told to offer their ideas
The nation's top advisers attending an annual session exchanged views with government and Party leaders yesterday to share opinions on State affairs and political life. "All State Council departments are urged to adopt an earnest attitude in studying and accepting the opinions raised by the advisers of nation's top advisory body," said Premier Wen Jiabao during a joint panel discussion of CPPCC members from economic and agricultural circles. "Faced with arduous tasks, China's reform and development is entering a crucial period which needs double efforts (from all sides)," he said. Members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), which is China's top advisory body, are welcomed to put forward suggestions on the government's work, he said. The circular issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on further strengthening the multi-party co-operation and political consultation under the leadership of CPC would serve a "guiding document" in the work of united front and the people's political conference system, said the top legislator Wu Bangguo. "CPC members in CPPCC are encouraged to conduct equal and candid co-operation with members of non-Communist parties and people without party affiliation in putting forward suggestions on State affairs," Wu said. Attending a panel discussion of CPPCC members from the China Democratic League and the China Association for Promoting Democracy, Vice-President Zeng Qinghong said the construction of a harmonious socialist society is a glorious task for the CPC as well for all the non-Communist parties in China. Zeng wished the non-Communist parties to work harder in enhancing the vigour of the society as well to bring forward more suggestions to improve the social management and public service network. |
