Pizza Hut accelerates expansion in China The world-famous Pizza Hut restaurant chain opened three new outlets in Tianjin, a coastal metropolis in north China, within a week before the Spring Festival, the Lunar Chinese New Year. The openings reflect the strength and determination of Pizza Hut's expansion plan in China, said its northeast Asian market general manager Chen Wenshan. "We are always concerned about the demands of our consumers, and actively look for suitable locations to open new branches and serve customers in Tianjin with expertise and redoubled sincerity," he said. Pizza Hut now has opened 160 red-roofed restaurants in more than 40 Chinese cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Zhengzhou Taiyuan, Harbin and Hohhot. Pizza Hut has won the favor of many Chinese since it opened its first restaurant in Beijing. It is not rare to see a long queue snaking outside the entrance of any of the capital's Pizza Hut outlets. Beside Pizza Hut, other western restaurant chains such as KFC and McDonald's also witnessed growing profits from operation in China as many Chinese, especially the youngsters, want to have a try of foreign food. |
