Manchester United Football Club will be encouraged by the news that Luis Figo is tempted to try his luck in the English Premiership.

The 31-year-old is out of contract at Real Madrid at the end of next season, and without wanting to play for another Spanish side, he has revealed his ambition to move to England.

"I am not going to play for another club in Spain," Figo said. "I have that very clear. England is a dream for the prestige and respect for professionals there is, but sometimes dreams don't come true.”

Sir Alex Ferguson is a known admirer of Figo, and could make a move to sign him at the end of the season.
