A batch of precious old pictures of the Great Wall in China, collected by Englishman, William Lindesay, made their first appearance at an exhibition held yesterday.

Some of the photos show visitors the appearances of some of the famous sections of the Great Wall a hundred years ago.

Lindesay is trying to locate existing sections of the Great Wall using the old photos and re-photograph them.

As a Great Wall enthusiast, Lindesay has collected more 200 precious old photos of the famous relic, some of them were shot in the 1960s.

William Lindesay traveled over 2400 kilometers on foot along a section of the Great Wall when he first came to China in 1987.

In recent years, he has also organized many cleanup campaigns to protect the Great Wall.
