China crush Australia 3-0 at women's soccer tournament

Three second half goals brought China to the second victory at the four-nation soccer tournament here on Sunday.

The two sides played a cautious game in the first half, mainly for ball possession in the midfield rather than creating real scoring chances.

But China, after beating Australia 1-0 in a pre-tournament training session, surged for attacks as soon as the match resumed after the break.

Ren Liping's shot was blocked by visiting goalkeeper Cassandra Kell but Pan took the loose ball and poked in after 61 minutes.

Han Duan, who stroke once for China's 3-0 victory over Russia on Friday, was on target again when the Dalian striker thudded in the ball one minute later.

Ren extinguished the last hope of the Australian visitors when she tapped in China's third goal in a chaotic box following Shi Mengyu's curling free kick in the 64th minute.
