Sundance welcomes Chinese Kung Fu

Hong Kong comedian Stephen Chow arrived at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival in Utah in the US, with his latest hit "Kung Fu Hustle".

The martial-arts star was warmly welcomed at the premiere session of the annual event, for the first screening of "Kung Fu Hustle" in North America.

The film will be released across the America in March and the producers hope it will be well received, after great success in China.

Sixth generation Chinese director Lu Chuan's film "Kekexili: Mountain Patrol" is the only Chinese film to compete in the prestigious festival.

It is the first year that the festival has had a World Cinema Competition session.

The Festival is the premier showcase for American independent film, and an important new platform for international independent film.
