Iraqi group claims killing of foreign nationals
An Iraqi militant group has claimed the killing of one Briton and one Brazilian in an attack on a US company in the violence-ravaged country, the Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV channel reported on Saturday. The group said it carried out the attack together with the Army of Ansar al-Sunna. It remained unclear whether the attack was the same one claimed by the Army of Ansar al-Sunna, in which it claimed the killing of one Swede and one Briton working for an intelligence agency linked to US forces in the central city of Baiji. Sweden has denied that a Swede had been killed. On Wednesday, one Briton and an Iraqi employed by the London- based Janusian Security Risk Management were killed in an ambush near Baiji. Violence has been mounting in Iraq as the Jan. 30 elections draw near. |
