Hornets' Magloire fined for throwing ball at coach
New Orleans Hornets center Jamaal Magloire, who is expected to miss three months of the National Basketball Association season with a dislocated finger, will have to find a way to open his wallet.
The NBA on Tuesday fined Magloire 7,500 dollars for throwing a basketball at Golden State coach Mike Dunleavy in a November 23 game. The ball hit Dunleavy in the chest.
Magloire wasn't thrown out of the game after the incident, which occurred in the second quarter, and tied a career-high with 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a 115-109 triple-overtime loss.
Magloire, who was named to the All-Star team for the first time last year, dislocated the fourth finger of his right hand in the Hornets' 95-86 loss at Phoenix on November 26. |
