James, 19 and last season's rookie of the year, reached the 2,000-point mark on a fadeaway jumper with just over a minute remaining in the third quarter.

James, who entered the game second in the NBA with an average of 27.3 points per game, was 11-of-17 from the field. He also added seven assists and seven rebounds.

James's milestone came less than a week after he posted a career high and NBA season-leading 43 points to lift Cleveland to a victory over defending NBA champions Detroit.
