HK veteran songwriter James Wong passed away at 64

Late HK Chinese lauguage lyric talent James Wong (1940-2004) [sohu]

Renowned Hong Kong lyric wizard James Wong (Huang Zhan) died of lung cancer Wednesday. He was 64.

His death was confirmed by Huang's son, Huang Yuhan, who asked the public to always remember the laughter of 'Uncle Zhan (Huang Zhan's nickname).'

"He left peacefully and with the final company of the family," said Huang Yuhan.

Huang was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2001 and then battled with the killer disease since died, receiving a series of surgeries and chemotherapy.

Two sons and a daughter, and Huang Zhan's last wife known as Winnie are left behind him.
