Knicks waive Bateer

New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas announced Tuesday that guard Andre Barrett and center Mengke Bateer have been waived by the team.

Barrett, 5-10, 173-pounds, averaged 1.0 points, 1.2 assists and 7.2 minutes in five preseason games. He was originally signed as a free agent on Oct. 4.

Bateer, 6-11, 300-pounds, scored two total points in 10 minutes in three preseason appearance. He was originally signed as a free agent on Oct. 4.
