Freeway accident kills 24, injures 42

A truck collided with a shuttle bus Thursday morning on freeway in east China's Anhui Province, killing 24 people and injuring 42 others, according to local sources.

The tragedy happened at 4:55 a.m. at the Hefei-Xuzhou Freeway, which links east China's Anhui Province with Jiangsu Province. A truck registered in Jiangsu drove into the lane of wrong direction, and collided with a shuttle bus with passengers.

All the injured have been sent to hospitals for treatment.
