Chinese NBA center Yao Ming is facing a hard time in the upcoming season due to injury.

According to Yao's doctor, the 24-year-old has suffered serious injuries to his toes, ankles and knees, as well as elbow joints.

However, the 7-foot-6 hoopster is expected to play at least 40 minutes per game in the coming 82 matches.

Last season, sophomore Yao Ming led the Huston Rockets with career highs of 17.5 points and nine rebounds per game. He was named the starting center of the NBA All-Star game for the second year in a row.
