World Carnival gets cold shoulder in Wuhan
(CRI)
Updated: 2004-09-09 14:37

Central China's Wuhan City has rejected the World Carnival on environmental grounds. City of Wuhan says it has refused the Carnival to protect their green areas.

The mobile amusement park gave people in Beijing plenty of laughs during its 50-day stay at the International Sculpture Park.

But it also destroyed more than 5,000 square meters of greenery in the park, which experts say will take an enormous amount of money, manpower and time to regrow.

The World Carnival has refused to pay compensation for the damage done to the park in Beijing.

To learn a lesson, the city of Wuhan says it has refused the Carnival to protect their green areas.
