Chinese duo reach women's 5,000m finals

Chinese duo Sun Yingjie and Xing Huina both advanced to the finals of the women's 5,000 meters event at the Olympic Games in Athens on Friday.

Xing finished fifth in heat 2 with a time of 14:56.01, while Sun, last year's world bronze medalist, was 7th in heat 1 but still qualified for the finals as 14th overall with a season best time of 15:03.00.
