The world's largest chip producer, Intel, signed a cooperative memorandum of understanding with Amoisonic Electronics, one of China's major telecommunication products manufacturers, in Shanghai Tuesday.

According to the memorandum, the two sides will cooperate in the fields of wireless communication, digital home service and wireless Internet. Intel will provide technical support to the Amoisonic in these sectors and the two companies will produce desktops and intelligent cellular phones.

Experts noted that Intel's target is to further entrench its No. 1 status in China.

At the memorandum signing ceremony, Dan Russell, vice president of Intel, said Intel will search for more companies like Amoisonic to cooperate with in China.

This past week, Intel signed a similar memorandum with the prestigious Beijing University Founder Group, China's second largest computer producer. The agreement offered technological support and training for the two companies' cooperation on digital home service.

Previously, Intel and TCL, a major TV sets producer, established a research lab for these future projects.
