A thread-bound album containing handwritings of Deng Xiaoping, the late chief architect of China's reform and open policies, was published in Shanghai Saturday as part of activities to mark his 100th birthday.

The Collection of Handwritings of Deng Xiaoping, in four volumes, comprises 296 pieces of Deng's handwritings, including inscriptions, letters, telegrams, comments and draft report outlines. Some are made public for the first time.

The book will be sold in limited quantities, including 5,000 copies in the deluxe edition and 800 copies in the treasure edition.

Jiang Zemin, chairman of the Central Military Commission, wrote the title of the book.
