European soccer's governing body UEFA on Tuesday rejected the Czech Republic's request to review the yellow card that captain Pavel Nedved received against Denmark in the Euro 2004 quarter-finals.

Nedved got a yellow card following his foul on Danish winger Jesper Gronkjaer, but most observers felt the Dane had dived. The Czechs thus asked UEFA "to have another look at the video evidenceand reconsider" the incident.

But UEFA denied the move and Nedved will be banned for the final if he is booked again in the semi-finals.

The Czech playmaker said he would be very careful in their semi-final against Greece.

"I will be very careful or I could miss the final - if we go through," said Nedved. "But also I know that it is a tough match in the semi-finals and it is difficult because there is a lot of pressure.

"I want to be running and running but I know I need to tread softly, " he added.
