Examination for land registration attorneyship

More than 23,000 people sat for China's first qualification examination for land registration attorneyship on Saturday.

The two-day exam, the first of its kind ever held at the sponsorship of the Ministry of Land and Resources and the Ministry of Personnel, will grant work permit for those who have passed it.

In the wake of China's fast economic growth, the trading of land-use rights is a common practice and the work of land registration has become increasingly vital. As part of its effort to improve the overall quality of land registration attorneyship ranks, China launched the qualification system in 2002.

Beginning this year, the examination is expected to be conducted in June annually. The subjects to be tested include the laws and regulations pertaining to land registration, the theory and relevant methods for transfer of land-use rights, probe into land registration as well as vocational skills entitled to attorneyship.
