China, Russia sign US$2.5b worth of deals

Chinese and Russian companies made US$2.5 billion worth of trade deals and investment agreements at the 15th international trade and economic fair that ended in Harbin on Saturday.

A Russian-Chinese economic forum and a presentation of the Amur region's investment possibilities were held as part of the fair. Russia presented more than 60 projects that evoked big interest among Chinese business people.

More than 2,000 exhibition stands were set up on an area of 56,000 square metres in Harbin. Eighty countries attended the event. The Russian section covered an area of 1,000 square metres.

A big delegation from Russian regions led by the president's representative to the Far Eastern Federal District, Konstantin Pulikovsky, took part in the fair.

One hundred thousand people visited the five-day fair.
