The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government will send a delegation to take part in the China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Expo to be held in Nanning, capital of South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in November.

Francis Tam Pak Yuen, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the SAR government, said in Macao June 13 that he hoped to take advantage of the expo to promote Macao's role as platform for the economic and service trade cooperation between the Chinese mainland and the Portuguese-speaking countries.

Tam said Macao will set up its own counters or saloons in the expo which is designed to promote the cooperation between China and the ASEAN.

In addition, the Macao SAR government will support the future construction of the Pan-Pearl River Delta (PPRD) region in line with the newly-signed Framework Agreement on Regional Cooperation in the PPRD region, Tam said.

The PPRD region consists nine provinces and region of Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan on the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong and Macao SARs.
